The Frontier Cougars will venture away from home to face off against the Beallsville Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Frontier will be strutting in after a win while Beallsville will be coming in after a defeat.
Frontier came out on top against St. Marys on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run seventh inning. The Cougars took their matchup against the Blue Devils 7-3. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Cougars as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Zeke Rinard made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
In other pitching news, Aidan Wolfe tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over 5.1 innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Frontier is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 1-3 otherwise.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Zerik Rinard, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. Frontier is undefeated when Rinard posts two or more stolen bases, but 0-4 otherwise. Briley Hupp also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Meanwhile, Beallsville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 22-3 to Tyler.
Beallsville saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dalton Fulton, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Another was Ryan Dornon, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with three stolen bases.
Beallsville's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Frontier, their record now sits at 3-4.
Frontier took their win against Beallsville in their previous meeting on April 12th by a conclusive 12-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
