This season hasn't been kind to the Sierra Linda Bulldogs, who are still winless after their 11th matchup. They had to suffer through a rough 85-29 loss at the hands of McClintock. While losing is never fun, Sierra Linda can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 340th, while McClintock is ranked 48th).
McClintock found their leader in underclassman Josh McManaway , who shot 8-for-13 from beyond the arc and almost dropped a triple-double on 32 points, nine assists, and nine steals. That's the first time this season that McManaway posted eight or more assists. Another player making a difference was Kyler Frye, who scored 21 points along with six assists and three steals.
Sierra Linda bumped their record down to 0-11 with that loss, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.0 points per game. As for McClintock, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sierra Linda will face off against Central at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Central's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. McClintock's road trip will continue as they head out to face Fairfax at 7:00 p.m. on January 12th.
