Baseball Recap: Stafford Snags Ninth Win in Last 12 Games

There's no place like home for Stafford, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Royal Falcons a 10-0 shutout on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Spartans, who have now won six matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Staten Lemke was excellent, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Maxwell Frels, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.

Stafford was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Royal only posted a batting average of .133.

Stafford has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for Royal, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-9-1.

Stafford will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Falcons: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
