The Onaga Buffaloes struggled with offensive rebounds on Monday (the Troy Trojans had 14 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Onaga suffered a rough 54-28 defeat at the hands of Troy. Onaga has not had much luck with Troy recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Onaga lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jackson Kolterman. Despite the final result, he scored 12 points along with five steals. That was a full 42.9% of Onaga's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Troy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Gannon Bowe out in front who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Bowe continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Henry Geiger, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds and five steals.
Onaga's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Troy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.
Onaga will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Washington County at 4:00 p.m. on January 18th. As for Troy, they will challenge Axtell on Wednesday.
