There's no place like home for the Belfry Pirates, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They snuck past Holmes with a 64-59 victory on Thursday. The win was just what Belfry needed coming off of a 80-48 defeat in their prior game.
Belfry found their leader in underclassman Zade Rash, who scored 21 points along with five assists and three steals. Those 21 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Makaden Maynard, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds and three blocks.
Belfry now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Holmes, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-6.
Belfry won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Paintsville at 8:00 p.m. on December 29th. Paintsville is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games. Holmes won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Expression Prep Academy at 6:00 p.m. on December 29th. Expression Prep Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine matches -- so hopefully Holmes likes a good challenge.
