If the Atlantic Christian Cougars were feeling good off their 79-12 takedown of the Cumberland Christian Crusaders last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Atlantic Christian fell just short of St. Joseph by a score of 65-63. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Several Cougars players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Noah Stokes, who scored 24 points along with eight rebounds. Stokes hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. Judah Dawkins was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five rebounds and two blocks.
Atlantic Christian's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for St. Joseph, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-7.
Atlantic Christian will stay at home for another game and welcome Pilgrim Academy at 6:30 p.m. on January 26th. As for St. Joseph, they will head out on the road to take on Ocean City at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Ocean City is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.
