Volleyball Recap: Hauppauge Extends Winning Streak to Four

Hauppauge entered their tilt with West Islip on Friday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Lions. The Eagles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Lions, too.

While Hauppauge won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The final score came out to 25-12, 25-21, 25-22.

Hauppauge was led to victory by Jenna Gennari and Grace Barbera. Gennari had 13 assists and three aces, while Barbera had five digs. Those three aces gave Gennari a new career-high.

They weren't the only good server: Hauppauge was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 14 aces in three consecutive matchups.

Hauppauge's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for West Islip, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Hauppauge has already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Smithtown East on the 13th. As for West Islip, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Smithtown West at 10:00 a.m. on October 13.
