In a tight contest that could have gone either way, Central Bucks South made off with a 21-20 victory over Coatesville. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Central Bucks South.
Anthony Leonardi was his usual excellent self, rushing for 80 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries, while also picking up 65 receiving yards. Leonardi was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 55 yards. Another player making a difference was Chase Baratz, who gained 0 total yards and three touchdowns.
Central Bucks South's victory was their seventh straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 10-1. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-9 Abington and 1-9 Harry S. Truman (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 36.3% over those games). As for Coatesville, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.
Central Bucks South will head out on the road to face off against Spring-Ford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Pennsylvania (Spring-Ford is ranked 25th, while Central Bucks South is ranked 24th).
