Orangeburg Prep has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Thomas Sumter Academy Generals at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Orangeburg Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four games -- so hopefully the Generals like a good challenge.
Last Friday, Orangeburg Prep strolled past the with points to spare, taking the game 64-47.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Thomas Sumter Academy, who are still winless after their 14th match. They were dealt a 69-33 loss at the hands of Northside Christian Academy on Friday. Thomas Sumter Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-14.
Orangeburg Prep has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for Thomas Sumter Academy, they dropped their record down to 0-14 with that loss, which was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Everything came up roses for Orangeburg Prep against the Generals when the teams last played two weeks ago as the squad secured a 75-17 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Orangeburg Prep since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
