Valliant was the big favorite in their most recent match, and for good reason. They took the matchup and then some with a 56-20 win last Friday. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point they had established a 48-14 advantage.
Meanwhile, Tishomingo had to kick off their season on the road, but they showed no ill effects. They were able to grind out a solid victory over Allen, winning 34-21.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 1-0. In their victory, Valliant relied heavily on senior Keegan Lininger, who rushed for 122 yards and 4 touchdowns; a key strategy for Tishomingo will lie in finding a way to minimize his impact.
