Deshler has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Superior Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Deshler will be strutting in after a win while Superior will be coming in after a loss.
Deshler scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 67-30 win over Harvard. That 37 points margin sets a new team best for Deshler this season.
Deshler's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carson Sieber, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 16 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Sieber has scored all season. Kaden Kleen was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Superior's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their ninth straight loss. They fell to Red Cloud 36-31.
Deshler's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Superior, they bumped their record down to 1-13 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home.
Deshler couldn't quite finish off Superior when the teams last played back in January of 2023 and fell 40-38. Can Deshler avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
