The North Shelby Raiders lost against the Green City Gophers back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. North Shelby was outmatched by Green City on the road and fell 79-46. North Shelby was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-27.
Asher Buggs-Tipton was his usual excellent self, scoring 31 points along with six rebounds and five assists for Green City. The match was Buggs-Tipton's 11th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Xander Salas, who scored 15 points along with seven assists and three steals.
North Shelby has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season. As for Green City, their victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-1.
North Shelby will take on Schuyler County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Green City, they will face off against Linn County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Linn County is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
