The Monticello Magic lost against the Delano Tigers back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Monticello was outmatched by Delano at home and fell 85-50. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Monticello in their matchups with Delano: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the defeat, Monticello saw an underclassman step up: Rhys Nebben scored 10 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Patrick Shobe, who scored 9 points along with 5 rebounds.
Monticello's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Delano, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Monticello will take on Cambridge-Isanti at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Delano, they will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Francis at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
