After soaring high against Baxter last Friday, Icarus fell to the ground on Friday. Coon Rapids-Bayard took a 26-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of Newell-Fonda. If Coon Rapids-Bayard were hoping to take revenge for the 8-49 loss against Newell-Fonda the last time the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
The defeat dropped Coon Rapids-Bayard's record to 1-0. The win bumped Newell-Fonda's record up to 1-0.
Next week, Coon Rapids-Bayard take on Woodbine at 7:00 PM. As for Newell-Fonda, they will face off against Clay Central-Everly.
