Meanwhile, Clarksdale's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They lost to Corinth on the road by a decisive 71-53 margin. While losing is never fun, Clarksdale can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 223rd, while Corinth is ranked 101st).
Lafayette has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for Clarksdale, their loss was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-9.
