Minuteman Regional took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Notre Dame Cristo Rey, who comes in off a win.
Notre Dame Cristo Rey posted their closest victory yet this season on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 41-39 win over St. Bernard's Central Catholic.
Meanwhile, Minuteman Regional unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Friday. They lost to Innovation Academy on the road by a decisive 76-59 margin. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game on Wednesday (56), Minuteman Regional still had to take the loss.
Notre Dame Cristo Rey pushed their record up to 5-7 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.7 points per game. As for Minuteman Regional, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-2.
Notre Dame Cristo Rey came up short against Minuteman Regional in their previous matchup back in February of 2020, falling 47-41. Can Notre Dame Cristo Rey avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
