If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Garden Plain. They will take on Independent at home on Friday. Garden Plain will be hoping to build upon the 55-14 win they picked up against Independent the last time they played.
Last Friday, Garden Plain came up short against Anthony-Harper-Chaparral, falling 21-30. Garden Plain's defeat came about despite a quality game from senior Caleb Hitt, who rushed for 62 yards and 1 touchdown.
Meanwhile, things haven't been easy for Independent, and their game last Friday only extended their streak of losses to six. They were given a punishing 0-52 loss at the hands of Trinity. The game was over by the end of the first half, with no points scored by either team from that point forward.
Garden Plain simply couldn't be stopped the last time the two teams met, as they easily beat Independent 55-14. Will Garden Plain repeat their success, or does Independent have a better game plan this time around ? We'll find out soon enough.
