The Bay Port Pirates are taking a road trip to take on the De Pere Redbirds at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. De Pere took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Bay Port, who comes in off a win.
Bay Port was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Sheboygan South on Thursday. The Pirates were the clear victors by a 23-0 margin over the Redwings. With that victory, the Pirates brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.
Estelle Finlan made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out nine batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with six RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high.

The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan VandenBrandon, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Bay Port always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .634. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 13 runs the game before, De Pere was a bit more limited in their contest on Thursday. They lost 7-0 to Ashwaubenon. The Redbirds haven't had much luck with the Jaguars recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
Reese Falish spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and four unearned) runs on six hits and racked up eight Ks. Those eight strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
De Pere's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Bay Port, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
