The Goddard Lions lost against the Maize Eagles back in October of 2019, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Goddard fell 31-22 to Maize. Goddard has struggled against Maize recently, as their game on Thursday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Goddard still got an impressive performance from Micah Johnson, who rushed for 209 yards and a touchdown. Johnson is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played.
The critical scores for Maize came from Bryson Hayes, Jaeden Martin, and Brayden Myovela.
Goddard's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Maize, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-5.
Goddard does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Maize also has no future games currently scheduled.
