The Decatur Heritage Christian Academy Eagles waltzed into their game on Friday with nine straight wins but they left with ten. They walked away with a 59-50 win over Pisgah. Given Decatur Heritage Christian Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while Pisgah is ranked 90th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Decatur Heritage Christian Academy to victory were Genie Mcghee and Katelyn Cooper. Mcghee scored eight points along with 14 rebounds and seven assists, while Cooper dropped a double-double on 22 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cooper has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Eastman, who scored seven points along with two steals.
Decatur Heritage Christian Academy's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 22-3. As for Pisgah, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-8.
Decatur Heritage Christian Academy will take on Mars Hill Bible at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pisgah, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against North Sand Mountain at 10:00 a.m. on January 27th.
