Giles will challenge Alleghany on the road at 7:00 PM on Friday. Giles don't have the home-field advantage, but they do enjoy an advantage in the MaxPreps rankings.
We expected Giles to have trouble with the significantly higher-ranked Glenvar last Friday, and they did. Giles ended up on the wrong side of a painful 6-38 walloping at Glenvar's hands. Giles were down by 6-31 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Meanwhile, Alleghany have been struggling to pick up a win, with their game against Carroll County making it eight winless games in a row. Alleghany took a 14-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of Carroll County.
Everything went Giles' way against Alleghany the last time the two teams met as they made off with a 49-16 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Giles since the team won't have home-field advantage. Watch the game and check back on MaxPreps to see if the change in venue makes a difference.
