The Bristol-Plymouth RVT Craftsmen will take on the Diman RVT Bengals at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Bristol-Plymouth RVT is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 16.9 runs per game this season.
Bristol-Plymouth RVT is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Massachusetts' top teams: Southeastern RVT, who was ranked 24th at the time (Bristol-Plymouth RVT was ranked 15th). The Craftsmen fell just short of the Hawks by a score of 3-1 on Monday. The Craftsmen were red-hot at the plate heading into the contest (they scored no less than ten runs in the eight games prior), but the Hawks' pitcher proved too tough.
Gabrianna Arrighi was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than 11 strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Bristol-Plymouth RVT saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Molly Clark, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, Diman RVT was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took an 11-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of Canton.
Nya Martinez was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Danielle Mello was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Having lost for the first time this season, Bristol-Plymouth RVT fell to 8-1. As for Diman RVT, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.
Diman RVT's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Bristol-Plymouth RVT hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .443. It's a different story for Diman RVT, though, as they've only averaged .254. Will they be able to contain Bristol-Plymouth RVT's hitters?
Bristol-Plymouth RVT was able to grind out a solid victory over Diman RVT in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 7-2. Do the Craftsmen have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bengals turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
