There's no place like home for the Cheyenne-Eagle Butte Braves, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They strolled past Todd County with points to spare on Monday, taking the game 79-62. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Cheyenne-Eagle Butte was led to victory by Easton Lawrence and Damien Clown. Lawrence dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds, while Clown scored 28 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Clown has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Austin Johnson, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds.
Cheyenne-Eagle Butte pushed their record up to 7-3 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.0 points per game. As for Todd County, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cheyenne-Eagle Butte won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Standing Rock at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Standing Rock has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Todd County won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Winner at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Hopefully Winner focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine last Saturday.
