The Discovery Spartans's game on Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 55-14 victory over Oasis Christian. With Discovery ahead 31-4 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Discovery was led to victory by Ralana Spence and Shalexis Elise. Spence scored 10 points along with 7 steals, while Elise scored 12 points along with 8 rebounds and 4 steals. Denia Hines was another key contributor, scoring 7 points along with 5 rebounds.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Oasis Christian struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Discovery posted 11.
The win got Discovery back to even at 1-1. As for Oasis Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Discovery will be playing in front of their home fans against Ridgeview Global Studies Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Oasis Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Santa Fe Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Santa Fe Catholic focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 39 on Monday.
