The Lamesa Tornadoes will head out on the road to face off against the Dimmitt Bobcats at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Lamesa has three straight wins, Dimmitt has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Lamesa beat Denver City 49-44.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought game, but Dimmitt had to settle for a 43-40 defeat against Brownfield on Tuesday. Dimmitt has not had much luck with Brownfield recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Lamesa is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. As for Dimmitt, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.
Lamesa came up short against Dimmitt when the teams last played back in February, falling 44-37. Can Lamesa avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
