Ledyard was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after a bye. The Colonels came in at 25 in the state poll after placing at number 26 last week.
Stonington led Eastern Connecticut - Medium in scoring this week by notching 35 points on Stonington.
Bacon Academy's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Sean Kelly threw for 111 yards and Ryan Duclos had 127 yards receiving. On the ground Nate Kozlowski chipped in 59 yards. Evan Dell helped Bacon Academy's passing attack out by catching 8 balls for 68 yards.
Kozlowski was a passing and rushing force as the Bobcats lost to Fitch. He completed 10 passes for 104 yards and also ran for 59 yards. Kozlowski's favorite target this week was Duclos, who caught 7 passes for 127 yards.
Duclos was the best receiver in the league this week as Bacon Academy lost to the Falcons. Dell helped Bacon Academy's passing attack out by catching 8 balls for 68 yards.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Erik Larka's team's Kozlowski and Duclos have proven to be a lethal combination. Kozlowski has thrown for 1,414 yards this season, while Duclos has 49 catches for 937 yards. Killingly's Tyler Stucke leads the league in rushing yards with 725.
Duclos of the the Bobcats' is a few catches away from breaking 1,000 yards for the season. He needs only 63 receiving yards in this week's game against Windham to get there. He has recorded 49 catches for 937 yards this year.
A big matchup in Eastern Connecticut - Medium this week will be when Waterford takes on Ledyard. At the moment, the Lancers are in fourth, while Jim Buonocore's team is in first.
Montville made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 5,514 from 5,825. The advance stemmed from a 35-21 victory over East Lyme last week.
