Wendell has gone 8-2 against Gooding recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Trojans will welcome the Senators at 4:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Gooding will be up against a hot Wendell team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. The Trojans put the hurt on American Falls with a sharp 13-6 victory on Monday. While the Trojans didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-16-1), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Deegan Prince was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple was his first of the season.
In other batting news, Beckett Yon was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Zayden Rogers was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Wendell was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Gooding). They blew past Glenns Ferry 24-4 on Monday. The Senators have beaten the Pilots the last seven times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Pilots has come to flipping the script.
Tracen Bay made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single hit in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs.
In other batting news, Gooding got a massive performance out of Josh Hagen, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Ike Scoffield, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs and two stolen bases.
Wendell's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Gooding, their victory bumped their record up to 2-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Wendell has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Gooding struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Wendell couldn't quite finish off Gooding in their previous meeting back in April of 2025 and fell 7-5. Can the Trojans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
