In what's become a running theme this season, the Griffin Bears gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They breezed by Jackson on the road to the tune of 55-25. Given Griffin's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 125th, while the Red Devils are ranked 400th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Griffin's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Bella Daniel, who scored 11 points along with four steals. Rinayah Harris was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Griffin has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season. As for Jackson, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-19.
Griffin won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Jaguars at 11:00 a.m. on February 3rd. Spalding is on a six-game streak of home wins, the Bears a five-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Jackson will take on the Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Peach County is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.
