Brewbaker Tech and Marbury are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2016, but likely not for long. The Rams will look to defend their home field on Saturday against the Bulldogs at 11:00 a.m. Brewbaker Tech will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
On Tuesday, Brewbaker Tech got the win against Stanhope Elmore by a conclusive 12-2. Considering the Rams have won 11 contests by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Kyra Wallace spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on two hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Taliah July was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Jaquayla Jarrett was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Marbury narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Chilton County 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bulldogs have posted against the Tigers since March 16, 2022.
Elizabeth Woodfin made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Woodfin was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI.
Woodfin wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Sara Roeten, who went 2-for-4 with two runs.
Marbury's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-16. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Brewbaker Tech, their victory bumped their record up to 18-15-1.
Brewbaker Tech's speedy runners might be the difference in Saturday's game. The Rams have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Marbury, though, as they've been averaging only 1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Brewbaker Tech continue to outrun the ball?
Brewbaker Tech skirted past Marbury 16-15 in their previous meeting on Thursday. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
