Walnut is 9-0 against Rowland since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Walnut Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against the Rowland Raiders at 6:30 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Diamond Bar scored an imposing 56 points on Tuesday, Walnut still came out on top. In a tight matchup that could have gone either way, Walnut made off with a 57-56 win over Diamond Bar. The win made it back-to-back wins for Walnut.
It was another big night for Nathan Yen, who scored 24 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Leon, who scored nine points along with 14 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Rowland beat South Hills 62-54 on Tuesday.
Walnut is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 15 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season. As for Rowland, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-9.
Walnut won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer in their previous matchup on January 9th, slipping by Rowland 47-46. The rematch might be a little tougher for Walnut since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
