Midwest City was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from eighth to sixth in 6A District 3. The Bombers vanquished Grant 61-0 earlier in the week.
Norman North and Yukon played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Norman North eventually emerging with a 34-28 victory. Peyton Gavras threw for 275 yards and two touchdowns and ran for one yards in the win.
The Timberwolves' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Jordan Evans chipped in 75 yards. Jake Higginbotham helped Norman North's passing attack out by catching three balls for 86 yards.
Corbin Cleveland was the best wideout in the league this week as Norman North beat the Millers. Cleveland racked up nine receptions for 94 yards.
Chuck Peot's team's Gavras and Higginbotham have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading 6A District 3 in both passing and receiving yards. Gavras has thrown for 1070 yards this season, while Higginbotham, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 16 catches for 338 yards. Ezel McIntee from Edmond North leads the league in rushing with 380 yards.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when the Timberwolves take on the Generals. Norman North's offense has scored 187 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while Grant has allowed only 191 on the year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Yukon takes on the Huskies. Todd Wilson's team is in fourth place, while Edmond North is in first place.
Midwest City took down Dan Burgess's team 61-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
