Basketball Recap: California Lutheran Piles Up the Points Against Hesperia Christian

California Lutheran lost to Hesperia Christian back in December of 2014, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The California Lutheran C-Hawks claimed a resounding 67-24 victory over the Hesperia Christian Patriots. The C-Hawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 23 points or more this season.

Leading California Lutheran to victory were Ethan Ash and Tyler Treder. Ash went 11 for 19 on his way to 27 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists, while Treder dropped a double-double on 25 points and 12 boards. The match was Ash's 20th in a row with at least ten points. Jonas Vogel was another key player, putting up seven points and 12 boards.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: California Lutheran was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hesperia Christian only racked up five assists.

Several Patriots players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jackson Lake, who posted seven points and three blocks. That's the most blocks Lake has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Cash Dennis, who scored four points.

California Lutheran is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 11-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.3 points per game. As for Hesperia Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 5-11.

California Lutheran will take on Tri-City Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Tri-City Christian's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six games. As for Hesperia Christian, they will square off against Big Bear at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Big Bear will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something Hesperia Christian surely won't give up without a fight.
