There wasn't a ton of movement in the power rankings this week, but there was certainly enough to keep things interesting. Among the action were the efforts of Boyle County's junior Reed Lanter, an offensive menace who scored five total TDs.
Can't Touch This
Boyle County's 49 - 6 win over Garrard County last week had a lot to do with the leadership of junior Reed Lanter. Lanter tossed the ball for 243 yards and five TDs. That performance made Lanter one of the best players in the power rankings last week.
Movin on Up
Christian Academy-Louisville not only got the result it was looking for last game, but the team outscored its opponent DeSales in every quarter. Christian Academy-Louisville claimed a 21 - 10 victory over DeSales. Christian Academy-Louisville found its leader in an underclassman: Brandt Babin earned two touchdowns and 126 yards rushing the ball, which was enough to make him one of the team's best players. The success catapulted Christian Academy-Louisville six spots up the power rankings, enough to make it the biggest riser of the week.
Next Week's Big Game
The big showdown in the power rankings this week is between Highlands (6th in the power rankings) and Covington Catholic (1st). Both teams are entering with last-week wins under their belts. With each team boasting a good deal of offensive firepower (Covington Catholic has seven high-flying games in a row, Highlands four), it will be interesting to see who can run the score up higher.
