The Ardrey Kell Knights waltzed into their matchup Friday with six straight wins but they left with seven. They snuck past Berry with a 75-69 win. Given Ardrey Kell's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 136th, while Berry is ranked 462nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Ardrey Kell got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Caden Caskey out in front who scored 26 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Caskey has scored at least 25% of Ardrey Kell's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brett Freeman, who scored 24 points along with seven rebounds.
Ardrey Kell pushed their record up to 8-3 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.0 points per game. As for Berry, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
Ardrey Kell will be home for the holidays to greet SouthLake Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Berry, they will head out on the road to face off against Butler at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Butler will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
