Fairport and Hilton are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2019, but not for long. The Fairport Red Raiders will be playing in front of their home fans against the Hilton Cadets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Fairport knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matches -- so hopefully Hilton likes a good challenge.
Fairport scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 76-73 win over Rush-Henrietta. Given Fairport's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 70th, while Rush-Henrietta is ranked 243rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Hilton had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They really took it to Rush-Henrietta for the full four quarters, racking up a 84-57 victory on the road. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Hilton has managed all season.
Fairport's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-2. As for Hilton, their win bumped their record up to 9-4.
Fairport came up short against Hilton in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 70-58. Will Fairport have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get analysis of the match and other basketball content.
