Sadie Parson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up 14 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Shaylee Johnson and Kate Lopez did most of the damage at the plate: Johnson scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Lopez scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. That's the most stolen bases Lopez has posted since back in March.
Meanwhile, Desert Hills earned a 5-2 win over Hurricane on Friday.
Desert Hills also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Lulu West gave up just two earned runs on four hits and racked up nine Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jayla Ybright, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Payten Benson, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Cedar pushed their record up to 16-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Desert Hills, their record is now 17-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Cedar has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Desert Hills struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
