The Salem Greyhounds will take on the Mansfield Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Salem is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Salem had no problem doing just that on Friday. They claimed a resounding 44-16 victory over Jessieville on the road. The result was nothing new for Salem, who have now won six games by 26 points or more so far this season.
Salem's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Kaden Brink, who rushed for 114 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.1 yards per carry, and Elijah Romine, who rushed for 123 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.2 yards per carry. Romine hasn't dropped below two rushing touchdowns for three straight games.
Meanwhile, Mansfield's game on Friday was all tied up 7-7 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 14-13 victory over Hoxie. The victory was familiar territory for Mansfield who now have five in a row.
Their wins bumped Salem to 11-0 and Mansfield to 10-2.
