1A Western Slope recap Oct. 30, 2012
Jacobe Galley of Hotchkiss ran for the longest rushing play in 1A Western Slope this season against Meeker last week. Galley ran for 92 yards on the play and finished with 280 on the day as his team defeated the Cowboys.
Cedaredge extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Paonia, 46-6. The victory was the eighth in a row for the Bruins.
Hank Edwards made the biggest impact on defense this week as Hotchkiss defeated Meeker. The junior grabbed two interceptions.
Cade Wasser was the best wideout in the league this week as Cedaredge bested the Eagles. Wasser racked up three receptions for 44 yards. Kyle Ward helped Cedaredge's passing attack out by catching two balls for 22 yards.
On the ground, Zac Lemon's team's Galley has rushed for 1713 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Conner Beard. The Hotchkiss star has 13 catches for 353 yards.
The Bruins' Carter Wasser needs only six yards against Centauri next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 116 carries Wasser has accumulated 994 yard this year.
