On Tuesday, the Starkville Yellowjackets faced the Germantown Mavericks in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Starkville took a 39-27 hit to the loss column at the hands of Germantown. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Starkville has scored all season.
Alana Rouser was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds for Germantown. Rouser is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Charlie Gamberine, who scored 12 points.
Starkville's defeat dropped their record down to 22-5. As for Germantown, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-9 record this season.
Starkville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Germantown also has no future games currently scheduled.
