The Blind Brook Trojans will head out to square off against the Saunders Trades & Tech Blue Devils at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Blind Brook is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
Valhalla hit Blind Brook with a four-run fifth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Trojans came up short against the Vikings, falling 9-3.
Blind Brook saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matthew Ebenstein, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last contest, Saunders Trades & Tech made sure to put some runs up on the board against Gorton on Monday. The Blue Devils walked away with a 13-10 win over the Wolves. Considering the Blue Devils' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Melvin Santana was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Santana was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Jahdeis Burgos was incredible, going 1-for-2 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Matthew McLoughlin, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.
Saunders Trades & Tech hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Gorton struck out 11 times.
Blind Brook's loss dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Saunders Trades & Tech, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-6.
