The Lewis Mills Spartans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bloomfield Warhawks at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The timing isn't great for Lewis Mills: they have been struggling with 15 straight losses at home dating back to last season, while Bloomfield has snatched up five consecutive wins on the road.
Lewis Mills fell victim to Tolland's stalwart defense on Thursday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were beaten by the Eagles 42-0. The last quarter was a mere formality, since the game's final score was reached by the end of the third quarter.
Meanwhile, Bloomfield can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent contest on Thursday. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 40-0 victory over Northwest Catholic. Given Bloomfield's advantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut football rankings (they are ranked 16th, while Northwest Catholic is ranked 141st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Davien Kerr continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, picking up 117 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while also punching in two touchdowns on the ground. Kerr was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 50 yards. Another player making a difference was Darrien Foster, who threw for 182 yards and two touchdowns on only ten passes.
Tolland's win bumped their season record to 4-2 while Lewis Mills' defeat dropped theirs to 0-6.
