With a playoff win on the line, Baker rose to the challenge on Friday. Everything went their way against the Mary G. Montgomery Vikings as they made off with a 7-1 victory. Considering the Hornets have won 14 games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Lauren Mordecai, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Kaylee Boddie was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Baker has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 29-12 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Mary G. Montgomery, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 15-15-1.
