Hayli Clampitt was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Clampitt was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Kyla Booker and Paige Hooper did most of the damage at the plate: Booker got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Hooper went 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three RBI gave Hooper a new career-high. Aria Graves also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Speedway always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .536. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Speedway moved to 4-7 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Ben Davis, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-11.
