There's no place like home for the South Platte Blue Knights, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Saturday. They snuck past Paxton with a 54-49 victory on Thursday. That's another feather in the cap for South Platte, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Johanna Frerichs was a one-man wrecking crew for South Platte as she scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Frerichs has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Madison Cheleen, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Paxton lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jacelyn Jorgensen. Despite the final result, she scored 25 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Emmalee Nicholson was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds.
