North Surry is 0-9 against Mount Airy since September of 2015 but things could change on Friday. After each having a week off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. North Surry is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.
North Surry is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Northwood 42-15 last Friday. The Greyhounds might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by 23 points or more this season.

North Surry can attribute much of their success to Zamarri Sweatman, who rushed for 105 yards and three scores, and Cade Atkins, who threw for 176 yards and a pair of TDs on only 12 passes. Sweatman's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 105 rushing yards.
Special teams also played a big role in the game for North Surry, adding 11 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Fisher Leftwich, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
Meanwhile, after only seven points in their last game, Mount Airy made sure to put some points up on the board against St. Stephens last Friday. The Granite Bears came out on top against the Indians by a score of 36-28. Considering the Granite Bears' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
North Surry better keep an eye on Taeshon Martin. He was instrumental in Mount Airy's win, rushing for 204 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.3 yards per carry. Martin showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 53 yards. Zach Goins also helped with two scores in total.
Mount Airy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 236 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
North Surry's record now sits at 4-1. As for Mount Airy, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. North Surry has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 152.4 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Mount Airy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 152.2 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
North Surry took a serious blow against Mount Airy in their previous meeting back in August of 2024, falling 50-14. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Martin, who rushed for 195 yards and four TDs on only 15 carries.
