The Lake Nona Lions lost against the St. Cloud Bulldogs back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Lake Nona took a serious blow against St. Cloud, falling 69-29. Lake Nona has not had much luck with St. Cloud recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Lake Nona's loss came despite strong showings from Dakota Jean-Louis and Nadeen Elgamal. Jean-Louis scored eight points, while Elgamal scored eight points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jean-Louis has scored all season.
Lake Nona's loss was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-7. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 21.8 points per game. As for St. Cloud, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-3.
Lake Nona will be home for the holidays to greet Winter Park at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Winter Park focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Tuesday. St. Cloud is on the road again on Wednesday and play against Apopka at 12:00 p.m. on December 27th. Apopka will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 286th, while St. Cloud is ranked 64th).
