The Rye Country Day Wildcats will challenge the Harvey Cavaliers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The last three games Rye Country Day has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
On Thursday, it was close, but Rye Country Day sidestepped King for a 6-4 win.
Rye Country Day got a great performance from Andrew Leonard as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over 4.1 innings pitched. Leonard has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Jackson Koslow was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Emmet, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Harvey won against Wooster last Monday with 20 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Cavaliers didn't even let Forman on the board, marking the Cavaliers' second-straight 20-0 shutout. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cavaliers.
Max Hernandez made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Hernandez was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
In other batting news, Matt Millstein and Liam Tarpey did most of the damage at the plate: Millstein went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Tarpey went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Luca Marano was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Harvey always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .788. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Rye Country Day pushed their record up to 8-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.2 runs over those games. As for Harvey, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Rye Country Day couldn't quite finish off Harvey when the teams last played back in May of 2024 and fell 5-3. Will the Wildcats have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
