The Bloomington Purple Raiders will head out on the road to face off against the Glenwood Titans at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
After soaring to 40 points the game before, Bloomington were a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They were outmatched by MacArthur at home and fell 54-10. Bloomington was down 47-3 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Bloomington's loss came about despite a quality game from Mikey Kimmell, who rushed for 74 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries.
Even if they lost, Bloomington's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Leading the way was Carter Jackson and his two sacks.
Meanwhile, Glenwood can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They claimed a resounding 42-14 victory over Lincoln at home. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-0.
Glenwood's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Blake Lehnen, who picked up 172 receiving yards and three touchdowns, and Colten Knoedler, who threw for 302 yards and four touchdowns while completing 81.3% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Simmons, who gained 100 total yards and a touchdown.
MacArthur's victory bumped their season record to 6-3 while Bloomington's loss dropped theirs to 5-4.
