McCook Central/Montrose lost to Colman-Egan back in April of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Fighting Cougars blew past the C-E Hawks 18-7. The result was nothing new for the Fighting Cougars, who have now won seven games by six runs or more so far this season.

McCook Central/Montrose got a massive performance out of Ashtyn Deknikker, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. That's the most runs Deknikker has posted since back in April. Landry Andal also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

McCook Central/Montrose always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matches.

The victory got McCook Central/Montrose back to even at 8-8. As for Colman-Egan, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-12.

Looking ahead, McCook Central/Montrose will take on Parkston at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Colman-Egan, they will welcome Deuel at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
