Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only The Burrillville Broncos walked away with it. They came out on top against Westerly by a score of 20-7 on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Burrillville also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2019.
Among those leading the charge was Logan Gelinas, who threw for 124 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground.
Burrillville now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Westerly, their defeat ended a eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Burrillville is on the road again on Friday and play against Cumberland at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. Cumberland is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Westerly, they will head out on the road to face off against Portsmouth at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Rhode Island (Portsmouth is ranked 18th, while Westerly is ranked ninth).
